Expanding Manufacturing company, Unibox, based in Middleton, Manchester, are looking for an internal sales executive. Basic plus OTE + Bonus & Healthcare Scheme.

Established in 1990 Unibox is primarily a display business specialising in the design and production of display furniture and modular systems for the retail, exhibition, event and commercial interiors sectors. For many years Unibox has been one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of retail and exhibition display systems.

Working within an already successful established team this will be a challenging and varied role. The ideal candidate will be accustomed to opening up and acquiring new clients, building effective relationships and have a driven, positive approach to sales. It is essential that the successful applicant displays originality, organisational ability and the capability to research potential clients and plan a targeted approach.

The key aspects of this role will be researching, contacting and developing new client contacts.

Previous sales experience and a high standard of communication skills are extremely important. An appreciation of design or a technical background would be an advantage.

Typical work activities:

  • Proactively research and contact prospective new clients in retail display, shopfitting exhibition, event and design agency sectors on a daily basis.
  • Ensure that activity targets set for proactive sales are achieved.
  • Maintain database information.
  • Ensure customers are contacted regularly building and maintaining company profile.
  • Follow up enquiries in a timely manner.
  • Produce reports as directed/requested.
  • Provide excellent ongoing customer care.

 

At least two years in a similar position required, training in our products will be provided. Broad shoulders, a sense of humour, juggling and plate spinning skills will be a distinct advantage

UNIBOX - Business Development Manager

Unibox is part of the United Aluminium Group - a £7.5m turnover business. The company has been operating since 1990. The main offices and manufacturing production facilities are based in Middleton, Manchester. We also has a showroom and office at Weybridge, Surrey. There are 70 employees in the business.

Unibox has a turnover of around £4.5m to £5m p.a The Group also includes a specialist led display lighting company - Lumenal, which has annual sales of around £1m.

Unibox’s key activities revolve around the design and production of counters, cabinets, POS, window displays, merchandising and shopfitting, exhibition and commercial interiors utilising the Unibox range of aluminium profiles, connectors and hardware. Their clients include both end-users and trade, i.e. retailers, design agencies, architects, shopfitters, exhibition contractors and graphics companies. Clients include several well-known names such as Carphone Warehouse, River Island, Boots, Matalan, Primark, Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Victorinox, Honda, Kawasaki etc

Requisite skills:

The Role … Unibox are looking for someone to spearhead new business development. Within the trade sectors noted above (shopfitters, exhibitions etc), there are a number of opportunities which need to be actively pursued. The retail sector also has great potential.

The Person … someone with the knowledge and experience of the trade and retails sectors. A POS and/or a shopfitting, exhibition and graphics background would be desirable. Also important is the ability to make sound commercial decisions based on the viability and profitability of the opportunities. The selling style is likely to very much be that of a ‘solutions finder’ - someone with the creativity and product knowledge to initiate and propose practical, effective ideas.

Key Attributes … energy, drive, enthusiasm, flexible, creativity, maturity, commercial nous, salesy, tenacious, self-sufficient, self-motivated, effective communicator, strong inter-personal and relationship building skills, independent but also a team player, credible.

Location … ideally accessible to the showroom at Weybridge, and able to work from the main offices at Manchester as and when required. The role will require a high degree of mobility and travel in the pursuit of new customers

Package … high basic salary plus car allowance, and commission based on sales. There is an opportunity to earn unlimited commission, and an OTE of £100k is both realistic and achievable based on the sales success.
